Beach Walk Art is happy to announce the addition of a new staff member!  This staff

New member was recruited by our Security and Public Relations Officer, Diesel*.

Our new staff member, per an edict from our Board of Directors (a.k.a., my husband) could not be an additional canine staff person.  So Diesel recruited someone of the ‘feline’ persuasion, Spike.  It is actually a heartwarming story as Spike recently found himself ‘unhoused’ and on Beach Walk Art property (a recent security breach).  Diesel saw potential immediately, and so we now have a new Quality Control and Morale Officer, Spike!  It started out as an internship program, but I believe he will be around for a while.

As soon as he was given opportunity, he has promptly completed a thorough inspection of the BWA facilities, starting outside, moving inside to analyze all shelving and storage areas.  He’s been inside, up, down, over and under every nook and cranny, reviewing all the materials and processes.  Now that he has things under control he is frequently found surveying BWA activities from various locations around the work areas, including walking across the work table and in various containers and storage areas.  He is a great addition and can frequently be found sharing encouragement in purrs and ankle rubs.

Spike on the job - inspecting and morale boosting.

*(Note: this summer we discovered a hidden skillset within our Security Officer – while at Hart, he poised himself in such a way outside our temporary little shop as to draw attention and customers.  He posed for photos more than once with visitors and greeted with great enthusiasm! He is shown here resting from a hot, hard-worked day.)
