Trying Something Pretty and New

Two new projects on my studio table, Beach Glass Christmas Trees! I will upgrade with an even better base next time, but I think I like them!

I decided to try to make a beach glass Christmas Tree. And I liked it so well it became TWO! These aren't posted on Etsy yet, I need to see how the glue holds up. I've thought about doing this for a while, but I didn't like any of the options I could come up with for the base. But I finally figured it out* -- AND there is room to put a light inside!

There are also little green pieces of beach glass peeking through to add a little color.

They did take a little bit of time to put together, and a lot of glue and then add to that quite a few fingertip burns from the glue gun. The thing I found funny as I finished, was the amount of excess glue I trimmed off as I layered one piece of glass after another. The pic below shows the leftover glue I accumulated (with a quarter thrown in there for perspective). I'll spare you the pictures of my finger burns.

*What did I use? Oh, that part is a secret - I can't tell you everything!

These Christmas Tree Trimmings are pieces of hot glue! Lots of them!
